LIPI
LIPI is a home cooking device that embodies a spoon rest, splash guard, and knife cleaner to make cooking safer and clean up easier. The name comes from the utilization of the lip of the pot or pan that this product functions upon.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
How may we reduce the risk of injury and clean up for home cooks?
CONCEPT:
A versatile kitchen tool intended to keep workspaces clean and prevent wear on pots, pans, knives, and hands.
THE STORY:
Growing up I have always loved cooking. However, the clean up process from sauce splattering out of the pot or the spoon rest needing to be wash always frustrated me.
On top of the mess, safety has always been another concern of mine in the kitchen. Oil or grease splashing out of the pan could cause a grease fire, while swiping the chopped vegetables off the blade could cause micro cuts to hands.
All of these considerations led me to designing LIPI, a home cooks best friend. LIPI is a product that could universally fit over any pot or pan to provide a safer and cleaner cooking experience.

Handles were too small
Used clay to mock-up new handle shapes for more comfort
Walls were too tall to complete standard cooking tasks
